Masterpiece Classics 24 x 30 cm

Small Birch Tree Wood

The motif: Small Birch Tree Wood

The sun-drenched birch tree wood is a special treat when painting. The different hues of green of its foliage and its grey and white trunks, with a silvery shine in some spots, are both an inspiration for every hobby painter and a special challenge. The summer atmosphere of this paining is particularly stressed by the shadows cast by the trees along the forest path and the adjoining meadow with wild flowers. The finished picture is an invitation to go for a walk in the wood and nearly fascinates every viewer.

50 years of PAINTING BY NUMBERS by „SCHIPPER“ (1969-2019)

With its lovely landscapes and flower motifs, the series “MASTER CLASS Classics” reminds us of the time when Painting by Numbers was created in the 1960ies. The motifs themselves have made this new painting technique a success and they have counted among the most favorite motifs of all hobby painters until today. SCHIPPER brings back the motifs from the past under the title “Paint and collect beautiful pictures” in the format as used in the past, i.e. 24 x 30 cm. It is simply fun to color them.

Picture format and painting template:

A villa by the sea

The motif: A villa by the sea

What a nostalgic place by the sea. Looking over the terrace of a grand mansion, the pillars of which are entwined with plants in full flower, the view onto the steep coast line of the Italian Adriatic Sea is simply magnificent. In the bay on the opposite side, the houses of a small town nestle along the rocky coast. There are sailing boats lying at anchor in the harbor. The shadowy terrace with its Mediterranean flair is a perfect place for daydreams. The intermezzo of light and shadow and the diversity of the colors are pure inspiration for the hobby painter and invite – even the viewer of the painting – to stay for a little while.

At Lake Como

The motif: “At Lake Como”

Lake Como is located amidst a grand mountainside. Idyllically, the houses and the church spire closely fit along its

narrow banks and invite the visitors into a small café in one of its romantic alleys. Its water front seamed by

palm trees convey a Mediterranean flair. Start out from there and enjoy a fantastic view over the azure lake and the majestic mountains.

Baby donkey

The motif: “Baby donkey”
At first sight, a donkey always seems to be somewhat sad. Our little donkey will make you feel the same, and this impression is even reinforced by the fact that donkeys will immediately stop and stand still when they are stressed unlike horses which tend to run away. Yelling, screaming or beating will cause them to freeze even longer in their position. For this reason a donkey is considered a particularly stubborn and stupid animal. But in fact they are quite extraordinary; they can manage to do without water and food for a longer period of time and are very useful pack animals. This is one more reason for the hobby artist to deal in detail with the donkey which has existed since 4000 B.C. as a domesticated animal.

Old Mill

The motif: “Old Mill”

The sun, hanging low in the sky, gives the old mill a shine in the warm colors of autumn. The reflection of the broadleaf trees’ leaves in bright golden yellow and red-brown hues is caught in the waters of the brook. Both the mill wheel, driven by the water and the small barge on the banks of the brook make this painting an impressive composition, emanating peacefulness and a feeling of security, thus making way for dreams – as if time had come to a standstill.

The Pug

The motif: “The Pug”
In the last few years, pug dogs have become very popular again. In fact, pugs are no breed contemporarily in vogue, but they are said to have originated from the Empire of China where they were first bred more than 2000 years ago. Apart from pugs, there is hardly any other dog breed to be found so frequently depicted in art. Pugs are not only considered dogs but a philosophy of life. Their sturdy, compact body and critical look make them unique in character and they are faithful companions. They are a perfect match for those of us who ungrudgingly overlook their beloved friend’s snoring, grunting, shedding and the fact that they call the best seat on the sofa their own. An amused smile on the hobby painter’s face tells us that he is well aware of these facts when painting this pug portrait.
