The building measures 28 meters in height and was the first lighthouse built in the open sea. From 1885 to 1964, its beacon has warned seafarers against the shallows of the Weser delta. I Il soggetto: Il faro “Sabbia rossa” Il faro “Sabbia rossa” si trova a nord di Wilhelmshaven, all’altezza dell’isola di Wangerooge. L’edificio di 28 metri di altezza è stato il primo faro costruito in mare aperto. Dal 1885 al 1964 la sua luce ha avvertito i naviganti della presenza di secche davanti all’estuario del Weser. Het 28 meter hoge bouwsel was de allereerste vuurtoren in open zee. Van 1885 tot 1964 waarschuwde zijn licht voor de ondiepten in de monding van de Wezer.
